Mexico Mission Trips 2010
Today is the day to plan your short term mission trip to Mexico for 2010!
Meeting in San Jose, Durango –June 2007, 200+ present, many salvation decisions and 2 families faithfully attending church in Bermejillo, Dgo.
Schedule now to have the best opportunity to choose the dates that work best for you.
In 2008 we were able to host several trips. The Lord blessed in a tremendous way. We were able to hold open air meetings with combined attendance of over 5000, more than 400 professions of faith, and many new families funneled into local churches that we worked with. The groups were a blessing to several local churches and national pastors we worked with. We saw God work in the lives and hearts of those who came from the US and there were some that considered and surrendered to full time Christian service.
With a lot of hard work from group participants and Mexicans as well we were able to construct a new church building - literally from the ground up! (We started by clearing the lot) The buildng is complete. Other groups heled in building the parsonage and dormitory for the Bible Institute.
Our theme is make your vacation count. So many people take vacations and spend thousands of dollars on them with no real spiritual and eternal benefits. Not so with a mission trip. The small investment you make of time and money will forever reap blessings. Maybe another great evangelist, pastor, or missionary will be saved in one of our meetings. Maybe your group will be enough of a blessing to encourage a national pastor to keep on keeping on, maybe a tract that you give out will be the instrument that God uses to bring a mother of a small child to Jesus, maybe a game we play with the children will be all that is needed to show Christ’s love and open the door to a new community. Maybe God will call you or somebody from your group to full time Christian service? I’ll go out on a limb and say that a mission trip will have as much, and probably much more benefit for the young people from your youth group than summer camp. If I had to choose (I was youth director for 2 years) between camp and a mission trip - the mission trip win’s hands down every time.
Important notes for 2010 and beyond
1) Passports are now required both for entry into Mexico and re-entry into the United States. NO matter what the law is or changes to, WE now require passports for everyone over the age of 13.
Please apply with time as a passport can take several months to obtain.
2) The fee for the week is now $250. We have had to raise the price for two reasons. 1) Rising costs - inflation affects us all. 2) We want to have some extra money for the construction costs. Even though we ask each group to bring extra for thier work project, we constantly went into the hole the past summers and we cannot continue to go backwards financially with each group.
The hotel in El Paso is also your responsibility. If we go into Mexico the night of your arrival we’ll pay for it. Basically everything in the US except the last meal is your responsibility; everything in Mexico except for souvenirs and snacks or extra soft drinks you purchase is our responsibility.
If your group wishes to stay in a Motel in Mexico, that will also be your responsability. (Each room cost is around $50/ night with up to 4 per room)
Please come and help us for a week . We can schedule trips year round, so think about a trip for Spring Break, New Years, in the fall – anytime is a good time to serve the Lord in this capacity. Call Tim Urling 575-824-0354 or Stephen Dyck 915-856-8227 or send us an e-mail tkurling@hotmail.com

TO EVERY CREATURE MISSION TRIPS
As the Lord ascended to heaven He gave us this command:
“Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:15
This command is our theme!
Our goal is to present the gospel to as many of the 13 million souls that live in Northwestern Mexico as possible. With your help we can make these goals a reality. By emphasizing literature distribution, gospel films and puppets we can make a difference.
GENERAL INFORMATION
TEC mission trips run on a Friday evening through Thursday evening schedule. The trips begin Friday evening in El Paso, Texas and finish late Thursday night after our last group meal.
TEC mission trips can be scheduled for individuals, families, school groups, Sunday school classes, missions groups, senior saints, youth groups, Spanish classes, college groups or any combination of these. Adults and teens are encouraged to attend. We have had participants as old as 82 who do just fine. Retiree’s are especially encouraged to come.
Some of our trips will be to mountain or desert villages, while others will take us to neighborhoods of large metropolitan cities. We have found that you can’t take the gospel to the wrong place!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
TEC team mission trips are designed for adults and teens. Those who want to impact world missions and take an active part in evangelism are welcome! Due to the serious nature of these trips the minimum age is 13, and an adult sponsor must accompany participants under 16. Families are exempted from our age guidelines.
Group size is limited to 25. If you have a larger group please consider coming two different weeks. Groups of 12 to 20 are ideal. We have found this size to be ideal for group interaction, as well as logistically.
Individuals and small groups (less than 10) may come any week that is not already full. You will make up a unique team and get to know some new people that may well develop into life-long friends. Smaller Churches get to know other churches and it always works out great!
Please call to be reserve your spot and to be sure we can accommodate your date.
ACCOMMODATIONS
While living conditions in Mexico may be less than you’re used to, they will be adequate and safe. We usually stay in local churches, or rent a vacant house but some areas have dorms. Remember you’ll only be with us a week! We have military style cots for sleeping. If they are good enough for our Soldiers – they are good enough for you.
MEALS
Our staff will prepare the meals, but we may enjoy some local snacks as well. We will have sufficient purified water for everyone, and the food will be of good quality, and prepared sanitarily. Groups usually rave about the great food we have.
You do not need to worry about getting sick on our trips. Please let us know well in advance of your trip of any special dietary needs. (Medical Only Please)
WEATHER
The weather in Northwestern Mexico is warm to very hot from May to September. Generally cool in October, November, March and April. December through February can be very cool. We may experience brief thunder storms in the late summer afternoons. The evenings can be cool any time of year, so be sure to pack a light jacket, sweater or sweatshirt
COST
Is it a cost or an investment in the Lord’s work? I believe it is an investment, so your investment is $250 per person per week. Included are all meals, ground transportation, team equipment, as well as all literature and tapes we will distribute. We also try to buy some materials for our project with these funds. The larger the group, the more funds available for the project.
Most groups bring extra funds for our work projects. ($50 - $100 per person is great!) If you would like to do a specific project let us know so we can provide an estimate of the costs.
Spending money for souvenirs, snacks, and extra drinks are the only need for additional funds. We also recommend you bring a small love offering for our Mexican host church and pastor. However, if you don’t want to, you won’t need any extra money.
Transportation costs to El Paso and any Motel*
expenses are NOT included in the totals.
* We have negotiated a rate of $57 per room with up to 4 per room. Included is a full breakfast and deluxe accommodations. The hotel does provide an airport shuttle for those arriving and leaving by air. Call for more details.
TYPICAL SCHEDULE
FRIDAY Your mission trip adventure will begin with your arrival El Paso. You will need to arrive and check in to the Comfort Inn El Paso by 7 PM. Friday evening we'll have our orientation and a time of spiritual preparation for the trip. At sundown we will go up on the mountains surrounding El Paso and look out at the millions of lights of Juarez. Most are really touched by the sight of the awesome task before us. We will pray for our trip and that we will see souls saved. No meals are provided on Friday
SATURDAY We cross the border around 8 AM for our travel into Mexico. After stopping to get our Mexican visas we will travel to our destination and host church. We’ll have a picnic lunch along the way and have time to get to know one another.
SUNDAY We normally share worship services with our Mexican brothers at our host church. We’ll spend the afternoon preparing literature, practicing the programs or maybe like all good Baptists – we’ll take a siesta. We might hold our first open air meeting this evening, but we do not want to disrupt the host churches program.
MONDAY - THURSDAY Each day will be full of activities such as: tract distribution, children’s programs, medical clinics, puppet programs, and gospel films.
Mornings are usually spent in a physical project with our host church. Activities will vary from painting, cement work, building pews, cleaning, landscaping, plastering walls, electrical, and plumbing, assembling literature – really anything that will be a blessing to our hosts. Some groups help us assemble literature, some groups help with a VBS.
Each afternoon we will leave the church for an open air evangelistic meeting. We’ll distribute tracts and invite people to our meeting. We will have some games, a puppet program, a Bible story and gospel film or other gospel presentation.
You will be directly involved in getting the gospel “To Every Creature”!
Wednesday evening will either be the same program or in regularly scheduled services with our hosts. After Church on Wednesday we’ll probably have our group testimony time. Many look forward to this as the best time of the week.
Thursday morning we will start our return trip to the border area. Thursday afternoon is set aside for shopping in the Juarez Market. Bring some money and your best bargaining skills for an unforgettable experience.
We’ll have our final meal together and you will be free to leave. Most stay Thursday night in the motel and leave for the return home early Friday morning.
FRIDAY You will be free to leave. Please make plans to leave no later than noon. Many schedule the next year before departing.
No meals served Friday!

CONCLUSION
A mission trip like this will change your life!! You will not be the same after seeing dozens, if not hundreds receive the Lord as Savior.
Pastors, a group from your church that goes on a trip will pump new life into your missions and soul winning programs.
Some have said that you will grow more spiritually on a mission trip
than during two years of regular church attendance!
