My name is Julian Robles. I am pastor of the Grace Bible Baptist Church in Rancho Anapra, Juarez, Chihuahua. Growing up as a little boy in Mexico, my father was an alcoholic and my mother spent most of her time in the bars. One day, a missionary came to my small town. This missionary showed me love, something that I had never felt in my home. He told me about how Jesus could save me, and I accepted the Lord when I was 12 years old, in 1976.
God gave me a great life companion, my wife Beatriz, together we have served the Lord in the area of church planting. In 2002 we were working in three churches in three different parts of the city of Juarez. We realized that we were putting forth a lot of effort, but in reality we were not giving enough attention to any of the three churches. We were just spread too thin.
God began putting a burden on our hearts for a Bible Institute where we could prepare men and women for the work of the ministry. God not only put this burden on our hearts, but He also carried it to completion.
In 2002 we started the Grace Bible Baptist Church and Institute in the area of Rancho Anapra in Juarez, Chihuahua. God has truly blessed our church. It is currently the largest church of any kind in Anapra with average attendance of over 200 and it continues to rapidly grow.
We have a soulwinning program that activly seeks the lost and also a discipleship program to teach and strengthen new believers in their faith. The Lord has blessed as well with many other church ministries.
I am the director and one of several teachers in the institute, which trains Mexicans to be pastors and missionaries. It is a year long program (40 weeks), and the third class of students graduated in December 2005.
For several years I have had a great burden to start a children's home. This burden is to provide a home that will be a place of love to care for the neglected, mistreated, and suffering children in this area. We know that this is God's will and we are praying that this vision will soon become a reality.
God has provided a couple, my son, Emmanuel and his wife Kristina, who plan to live in and be the directors of the childrens home.
The Lord also provided the land in a miraculous way. I shared my vision for the children's home with the church congregation, and after the service, an poor elderly woman from the congregation approached me and told me that she would like to donate half of her land for that very purpose! It was obvious that the children's home indeed was in God's plan.
Our desire is to love these children, teach them about God, and help them to know the love of their heavenly Father. Someday we pray that some of these children will grow up to be pastors, missionaries, and other leaders in local churches.
