“The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”    Jeremiah 8:20

ONE DAY TOO LATE!  As we arrived at the small town of Sixth of October on August 14th a sinking feeling came over us as we realized we had arrived one day too late!  The Catholic Church was surrounded by 250+ people and around 50 cars.  They were there for the funeral of someone from that town who had died the night before.  What a sad sight as they headed for the grave.  Most of the men were drunk; I suppose to dull the pain they felt at their loss.

We decided we would hold the meeting anyway.  We set up and went out to invite the remaining people in town.  I wasn’t too optimistic since it looked like everyone had gone to the grave.  The Lord had other plans and we ended up with a good crowd and many that had gone to the grave returned just in time to hear the preaching.  One the ladies hung back and gave out many tracts to those returning.  Brother Angel preached and over 100 responded to the invitation.  Please pray that the follow-up will be effective.  We don’t know if the man would have been saved had we arrived a day before, but at least he would have had a clear presentation of the gospel!

PRAISE!!   Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Gracia: Bermejillo Durango  Pastor Angel Luna.

The exterior walls are now up and the first service on the new property was on Sept 2. The ladies have been making and selling tamales every Friday and have raised over $500 towards the purchase of building materials.  Brother Roger Branscum told me when we get the first floor finished he and some men from his church will come and build the second floor and roof.

The church is planning to start a “circuit” mission program to follow up on the small towns that were visited this summer.  They will be holding services in homes of the believers once every 2 weeks.  There are at least 8 distinct pueblos that need this type of ministry to be effective in reaching these souls.

THANK YOU to these churches that have helped with building funds:  Maranatha B.C. – Bethany, OK,  Good News B.C. - Albuquerque, NM,   Windsor Hills B.C. - Okla. City, OK,  New Testament B.C. - Tuttle, OK,  Massillon B.T. - Massillon, OH,   Central B.C. - Lindale, TX,   New Prospect B.C. - Lockesburg, AR,

PRAISE!!  Roca Fiel Baptist Church: Carlos Chavira, Juarez, Chih.  Pastor Josue Robles   I turned over my teen class to Brother Joel the end of Aug.  Pray for him as he leads this group of young people.

Three of our teens went with us on the mission trip in August.  I was proud of them as they worked hard and did a great job of soulwinning and leading groups on visitation.  We’ll be celebrating the 2nd anniversary October 14.  We are praying for 200+ on this day!  Pray for us to reach this goal!

MISSION TRIPS 2008  NOW is the time to schedule! I recently talked with brother who told me the results of a trip his church took in ‘98. Around 50 teens went.  Nine years later 25 are in fulltime Christian service!    How many of your young people are going into full time service?    Many more would if you’ll bring them on a mission trip!        I Did!       Call TODAY to schedule (915)241-3233.       Call TODAY  or you’ll forget and another season will pass!

Looking for that Blessed Hope and Glorious Appearing!
