Dear Pastor, Supporters and Friends,
It is truly a privilege to write you and share with you a small portion of the blessings our Lord has so graciously poured out upon us. It is hard to believe that 2007 is long gone and the New Year is upon us. We pray the Lord’s richest blessings upon each of you as you continue to serve Him.
PRAISE!! Roca Fiel Baptist Church: Carlos Chavira, Juarez, Chih. Pastor Josue Robles We celebrated Christmas on the 23rd with a good crowd of around 100. The children of the church presented a play of the Christmas Story and did a tremendous job. (See back) We are also praising the Lord because we are seeing real growth in some of our church people. We started the New Year with 3 adult baptisms. One of the men (Miguel) has been saved and faithful to attend for over a year but really struggled with being baptized. He finally surrendered on January 6th along with a man that was saved at our anniversary service and a lady saved last fall. ¡PRAISE GOD!
We decided to change our Bible Institute program a little this year. We have divided the training into 3 levels and plan to teach at least the first level in each of our churches so more can attend. Our Institute in Carlos Chavira has 14 enrolled and studying. The basic level classes are: Personal Evangelism, How to Disciple New Believers to Maturity, and Old and New Testament Survey. Please pray for those who are studying that they would finish each level, graduate and go on to serve the Lord in a greater capacity!
PRAISE!! Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Gracia: Bermejillo Durango Pastor Ángel Luna. We were able to put a roof on the new building, frame the interior walls and finish about 70% of the wiring and plumbing with a group of men that came from Ruidoso, NM the last part of November. We will be leaving on January 16th for a few days to see if we can finish the wiring, plumbing, sheet rock and a few more details.
The Lord is blessing in Durango as well. Brother Angel reports that they had around 100 in their Christmas services and there are several more to be baptized. He also says that with the building now up, it has given them more credibility in the community and that they have had several people come around that we first reached with some of the short term Mission Trips.
PRAISE!! Grace Bible Institute: Col Anapra, Cd. Juarez Chihuahua Graduation was held Dec. 8th and it was a great night of victory for the church and the 4 who graduated. One couple is planning on departing when school lets out to start a church in Tlahualilo, Durango. They will probably work for a few months with Bro. Angel and his church will help them get started. This is a town with a great need for a good church – pray for Filiberto and Mari. The other two graduates are working in their respective churches as interns to gain experience as they wait the Lord’s direction for ministry. Pray For Juan and Ruth.
MISSION TRIPS 2008 NOW is the time to schedule! There is still time to schedule for this year, but please call or e-mail so we can reserve your dates, and also to plan each trip for maximum impact.
PRAYER REQUEST Pray for us for strength, wisdom and guidance. Pray for our son Zach as he will be deployed to Iraq in April.
