Dear Pastor, Supporters and Friends,
It is just past 2 A.M. as I write these words. In just a few hours we will be leaving to start a new phase in our ministry as we help Brother Angel Luna start the Grace Bible Baptist Missionary Institute in Bermejillo, Durango.
I remember just a few short years ago as Brother Angel Luna was a new convert entering our Bible Institute in Juarez. After several months of hard work and dedication came his graduation and ordination. He and his family then moved to Bermejillo where a few months later we helped as they started the GraceBibleBaptistChurch. We have hosted several mission groups to help them evangelize, seek out prospects, and build a building.
The Lord blessed and soon a church building was built. Last fall a parsonage and dorm for the Bible Institute was built. The church has grown with high attendance of nearly 300 and average attendance in the 90’s. Now the cycle begins again with several new students entering their first semester.
The above verse has become a favorite of mine as in embodies the heart and soul of mission work. Paul taught Timothy who taught faithful men who taught others, who taught others … down to Pastor Charley O’Daniel who taught me, I in turn taught Brother Angel who will be teaching others…and so the chain continues. Who are you teaching to teach others? It is the commission given by Christ. (Matt 28:19-20) Has the chain been broken with you or does it continue?
Please pray for us and for the Institute. Pray that the students would stick it out and graduate and then go on to start churches and teach others. Pray that the Lord would provide the necessary finances to be able to continue on in this great task. Have you considered helping by giving towards the Gideon’s band? PRAYER REQUESTS The Lord has opened the door for us to purchase a lot right next to the Church Property. I moved ahead by faith and purchased the lot. We plan to build a small house on that lot for our family to live in. We lack about $1000 to pay off this lot and then will need some money to build. Would you pray about helping us? Any offerings should be sent to our home church. Please pray for protection, guidance and power in preaching and soulwinning. Pray for our soldiers and especially our son Zach Urling who is still in Iraq until next July. Brethren, Please pray for us!
